'The Jungle Doctor' - Dr Paul White

Paul White

Born in Bowral, Australia, Paul White was affectionately known as the Jungle Doctor.

As a doctor in Tanganyika, Paul learned a great deal from his African friends at the jungle hospital. They befriended him and helped him in his efforts to learn their language, Chigogo.

One of their most important gifts was to teach him how to use animal stories. These stories, or fables, help to explain different elements of Christian life.

The first of 8 fable books appeared in 1955. In these books you will meet Toto, the mischievous monkey, Boohoo, the Hippo who, like the author, suffered from allergies, Twiga, the giraffe and wise teacher, and many others.

We hope these animals will endear themselves to you.
